ABOUT THE OPED PROJECT
The OpEd Project is a global thought leadership project and social business founded to change who writes history. We are a community of journalists, thought leaders, and change agents who actively share knowledge, resources, and connections across color, creed, class, sexuality, gender, ability, and beyond. Through our nationally-recognized curriculum, our team of journalist mentors, and through a portfolio of programs in partnership with leading institutions across the nation and the globe, we accelerate the ideas and impact of underrepresented voices, including women of all backgrounds. We have been covered by most major media. We have stunning results.
WE BELIEVE
The story we tell becomes the world we live in.
The world becomes more intelligent when it is more inclusive.
The best ideas, regardless of where they come from, should have a chance to be heard and to change the world.
As we grow, The OpEd Project continuously seeks new talent to support our programs, create new solutions, and deliver on our mission. Read about how our longtime Chief of Staff, now board member, Court Baxter, got her job with us here.
+ Fellowship Coach
Part time, contract
As we continue to grow, The OpEd Project continuously builds our team of Public Voices Fellowship Coaches. Our coaches are working journalists, columnists, editors, authors, and thought leaders with a track record of high-impact writing and extensive commentary experience, a gift for coaching and mentoring, a deep appreciation for The OpEd Project’s method and curriculum, and a commitment to The OpEd Project's mission of forging a more inclusive world. Fellowship Coaches must have an existing relationship with The OpEd Project (for example, as a Mentor-Editor, Public Voices fellow or advisor) and a history of uplifting voices in our community. Fellowship coaches are assigned to work in teams to co-lead our Public Voices Fellowships around the nation, and are charged with ensuring fellows get results (op-eds and more), in order to trigger meaningful change on a personal and collective level. This highly rewarding and flexible role includes editing, mentoring, pitching, writing bi-weekly missives, and leading four convenings (predominantly virtual). Compensation starts at $2,000/month. Our model is stunningly successful, and many coaches renew their contracts year over year.
