Sarah Garrecht Gassen is a journalist and editor with more than 25 years experience in news and opinion departments, 20 years in the university classroom, and 10 years leading a hands-on newsroom/university apprentice program. She is interested in disability as diversity and has written about her own experiences. Her writing and community leadership propelled the creation of a preschool program for low-income children in Tucson, Arizona. Sarah has served as a journalist mentor with The OpEd Project for many years, and joined our team of Fellowship Coaches in 2022.
