JULIA SPERLING

JUNIOR ASSOCIATE, MEMBERSHIP

JULIA SPERLING is the Junior Associate of Membership at The OpEd Project. She is a senior at Harvard College studying English and Women, Gender, and Sexuality (WGS) studies. A storyteller at heart, she focuses on the intersection of gender and body, culture, and creative writing in her coursework. At Harvard, she is a Fellow at the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning where she helps design studio space and activities for visiting course workshops to produce learning experiences that utilize technologies such as green screen, VR, graphic design, video essay, podcasting, and AI. She also served as the Director of the Harvard Radcliffe Modern Dance Company and serves as a Peer Advisor in the WGS Department. She joined The OpEd Project because she experiences firsthand the power of words and believes in their potential to make the world a more just place. She has a passion for maximizing impact and understanding communities. In her spare time, Julia can be found playing guitar or finding her new favorite band—if not, she is probably reading or writing a story, finding a dog to pet, or overusing her Notes app.
