DESIRÉE MAULTSBY is a Senior Manager, Fellowships at The OpEd Project. With a rich background as a wellness practitioner trained in breathwork practices, qigong, expressive arts, and holistic sex education, Desirée has brought her expertise to various industries, including non-profits, higher education, and integrative wellness spa resorts. Over her 20-year career, her primary focus has been on leadership development for women, primarily, across all socioeconomic sectors.

Desirée holds a Master’s in Transpersonal Psychology specializing in Creativity and Innovation and is a certified Transformational Coach from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, California. She is also a proud 2024 alum of The OpEd Project’s “Write To Change The World” which she attended virtually.

Desirée joined The OpEd Project because she has a passion for the transformation that is possible when diverse voices lead to civil discourse and inclusive thought leaders dare to make the world more equitable. 

In her spare time, she enjoys facilitating process art classes, dancing to global rhythms, traveling, savoring delicious food, laughing with friends, and spending time with her husband and two adult sons.
