WORKSHOPS
The OpEd Project's globally-recognized workshops are based on time-tested models of transformational learning, designed to unlock knowledge in powerful and unexpected ways and lead participants to a destination of action. All those who complete the workshop receive one month of follow-up support, including access to weekly “Ask A Journalist” office hours with our Editor-In-Residence and to our journalist mentors (aka Mentor-Editors) for individual feedback.
We welcome people of all identities, backgrounds, genders and positions, regardless of means. We seek to overrepresent the underrepresented, including women.

"Write To Change The World” is a discovery-based interrogation of authority and knowledge, that walks participants through a method for changing hearts and minds, connects them to a network of journalist mentors, and results in them publishing op-eds (if they wish).
We explore the source of credibility; the patterns and elements of persuasion; the difference between being “right” and being effective; how to preach beyond the choir; and how to think bigger about what you know—to have more impact in the world.
It is open to the public, 100% virtual, and typically takes place over two half days.

This advanced workshop, which is a sequel to our core "Write to Change the World" workshop, is for alums of the core workshop and Public Voices Fellowship only. Based on our flagship fellowship curriculum and offered rarely to the public, it focuses on connecting people and ideas across time, space, expertise and identity - and on accelerating our ideas by investing in the diversity of our knowledge sets. It is designed to make us more strategic and intelligent - both as individuals and as a collective.
Participants emerge with tools to generate new ideas; tactics for being timely at any time; an outline for a draft op-ed (on an idea only you can write, but might never have thought of before); and a global network of diverse peers amongst whom you have the potential to increase your impact and our intelligence. This highly energetic and interactive workshop culminates in the entire group writing an op-ed together - an exercise in collaborative action.
